Ara Mina asks to subpoena Cristine Reyes

MANILA, Philippines – The camp of actress Ara Mina is expecting that a subpoena will be issued next week to compel Cristine Reyes to answer the legal charges filed against her by her older sister.
Following the recent filing of libel and grave coercion cases against her by Mina, Reyes is anticipated to appear before the Quezon City fiscal’s office to defend herself from the said charges.
“Naisampa na [ang kaso] sa fiscal’s office, at inaasahan namin na sa darating na linggo ay madadalhan na ng subpoena si Cristine para siya ay pumunta sa fiscal’s office at doon magpaliwanag,” Atty. Enrique dela Cruz, Mina’s lawyer, said in an interview on “Showbiz Inside Report.”
Once Reyes is summoned to the fiscal’s office, she will have a chance to file a counter-affidavit. Should the case be deemed with probable cause, it will then be taken to court.
“Magkakaroon siya (Reyes) ng pagkakataon magbigay ng counter-affidavit, and then kung mapapatunayan ng piskal na may basehan ang reklamo, ito’y isasampa sa korte,” dela Cruz added.
Meanwhile, Viva Artists Agency, the talent firm managing Mina and Reyes, said it is saddened by the turn of events involving its two priced contract artists.
“The Viva Artists Agency is saddened by the current issue between two of its stars, Cristine Reyes and Ara Mina,” General Manager Veronique del Rosario-Corpus said in a statement. “The management will do its best to try to mediate between the two, even as we will let the court run its due course. Everyone is hoping this will be resolved amicably soon in everyone’s best interest.”
